IcF Fire REsistance
We’ve all seen the sickening images of huge forests blazing towards the sky, advancing towards communities of people helpless to do anything but watch their homes go up in smoke. You’d be hard-pressed to build a home that could be called fire-proof, but ICF offers some significant and considerable advantages over lumber when it comes to fire resistance. ICF concrete can withstand up to four hours of extreme fire exposure (most building codes require 15 minutes). Combined with other fire-resistant methods, ICF homes have an excellent chance of standing through a fire.*
